Nic Dahlberg

Hi! I'm Nic Dahlberg (he/him) and I am a LMHC in the state of Washington. I provide therapy services as a contractor for Seagate Psychological Services. How are you? Because in a world where unprecedented events are happening on the daily, it's likely you're feeling a teensy bit (or a lot a bit) overwhelmed, out of control and lost.

When you're not running around in a crippling state of anxiety, you're zoning out, self-medicating or trying out the latest self-care tip you heard about on that one podcast to drown out the existential dread. Perhaps, like many of my clients, you might be really stressed or burned out right now and need a place to sort through it all and to find some relief.

In therapy, I strive to create a casual, warm atmosphere where you'll feel comfortable sharing your honest answer to "so, how's life?" We'll dig deep into the heavy stuff and the challenges you face with the seriousness they deserve while also incorporating a bit of joy and humor along the way.

The search for a therapist is daunting, and finding the right fit for you is important. To ensure you feel confident about your decision, feel free to reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation phone or video call where you can share what you're looking for in therapy and talk through your questions, hopes, doubts and curiosities.

My areas of professional interest include trauma, overcoming mental health challenges, identity exploration, multiculturalism, and living a meaningful and full life. I work from a client-centered model that incudes interventions and framework from DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with a strong emphasis on identity exploration, finding meaning, and accepting difficult emotions. I am also trained in EMDR, which is an amazing tool to help the brain more effectively and efficiently process trauma. I really try to focus on helping my clients accept and become friends with the parts of themselves that give us all trouble. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and working professionals.

I recently moved to Seattle from Austin, TX with my spouse and love the outdoors, hiking, golfing, exercise, meditation, and watching television and films. I also love coffee but as I've grown my tolerance for caffeine has decreased so you'll catch me having a cup or two max in the mornings. I really believe strongly in trying to live my life in a meaningful way every day and I prioritize work/life balance a lot. I also love to laugh and use humor to cope with life a lot. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better and hope to help you make a good decision if I feel like the right fit for you as a therapist.
